Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 23, 2026
This policy explains what information the Dinklet app and the website at dinklet.com collect, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. Dinklet is operated by The One Perfect Solution LLC ("we", "us"), based in Gilbert, Arizona, USA.
"Dinklet" is our working name. The brand may change; if it does, this policy still applies to the app under its new name.
The short version
- We collect what we need to help you find games, run events and talk to other players.
- Your profile, the games you join and what you post in shared chats are visible to other players.
- We use your location only if you allow it, and we keep it on your device.
- We do not sell your personal information, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- You can delete your account at any time, in the app or on the web.
Information you give us
- Sign-in. You sign in with Google or Apple. We receive your name, email address and, from Google, your profile picture. With Apple you can hide your real email; we then receive a private relay address. Your email is used for your account and support only. It is not shown on your profile.
- Profile. Your display name, photo, skill rating, home city, bio, play styles, and, if you add them, your DUPR ID and DUPR rating. Hosts can also add links to their social channels and a sign-off line for the event and results posts they share.
- Games and tournaments. Events you create or join: title, date, court, format, fee amount, rules and notes; rosters and waitlists; team partners; scores and results.
- Payment status. Hosts can show a fee and a free-text payment note (for example, a Venmo or Zelle handle). Players can mark themselves as paid, and hosts can mark players as paid. Dinklet does not process payments and never receives card or bank details. Any payment happens directly between you and the host, outside the app.
- Groups and chat. Groups you create or join, and the messages you send in group, game and tournament chats.
- Partner invites. When you sign up a team for a tournament, you can invite a partner by link or type a partner's name. If you type the name of someone who is not on Dinklet, that name is shown on the team list.
- Coach listings. If you choose to list yourself as a coach, the details you enter (name, photo, headline, bio, rates, specialties, certifications, ZIP code or area, travel distance, and any phone number, email, website or Instagram you add) are shown publicly to players.
- Courts you add. If you add a court, its name, details and location are saved with your account as the person who added it.
- Reports and blocks. Reports you file about a player or message (the reason and any details you give), and the list of players you have blocked.
- Support. Anything you send us when you contact us.
Information collected when you use Dinklet
- Location (optional). If you allow it, the app reads your device's approximate location, or you can type a ZIP code or search for a city instead. We use it to show games, courts, coaches and events within about 25 miles. Your location is saved on your device, not on our servers, and we do not keep a history of where you have been. To find courts, the app sends the area you are looking at to OpenStreetMap services (see below), and we record which roughly 20-kilometer area has been searched, without linking it to you. A location is stored on our servers only when you attach it to something you create: the court for a game or tournament, a court you add, or the area of your coach listing. If you add a court or a coach listing without typing a place, the app uses your current area as its location.
- Share links and visits. Links you share for an event carry a short tag for where they were shared (such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, a group chat or a plain link). When a signed-in player opens an event, we record that they opened it, when, and which kind of link they came from. When they join, we record that tag too. The event's hosts can see these visits and sign-ups by source, so they know which posts worked.
- Push notifications (if you turn them on). We store a notification token for your device so we can send game reminders, waitlist updates, invites and chat alerts. You can turn notifications off in your device settings at any time.
- Crash reports. If the app crashes, it sends a crash report through Firebase Crashlytics: device model, operating system, app version, the technical details of the crash, and a random installation identifier. We use this only to fix bugs.
- Settings on your device. The app stores small preferences on your device, such as your chosen area and light or dark mode.
- Usage statistics. The app records which features are used, such as signing up, posting or joining a game, starting a session and signing up a team, through Google Analytics for Firebase, tied to your account ID and a random app-instance identifier. It never includes your name, messages or location. We use it only to understand how the app is used and to improve it, never for advertising.
- Website. Our website does not use cookies, analytics or ads. Like any web host, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability.
How we use information
- To run Dinklet: show nearby games, courts, coaches and events; manage rosters, waitlists, brackets and scores; deliver chat messages and notifications.
- To show your profile and activity to other players in the places described below.
- To help hosts run and promote their events, including visit and sign-up counts by share link.
- To keep the community safe: review reports, enforce our Terms, and prevent abuse.
- To fix bugs, keep the service secure and improve the app.
- To answer your questions and send you important notices about your account or this policy.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not use your information for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
What other players can see
- Your profile (name, photo, skill rating, home city, bio, play styles, DUPR ID and rating, and any social links you add) can be seen by any signed-in Dinklet user.
- Rosters and results. Your name, photo and skill appear on the games, tournaments and groups you join, including waitlists, team lists, brackets, scores and results.
- Chats. Messages in game and tournament chats, and in public groups, can be read by signed-in users who open that event or group. Messages in private groups can be read only by group members. Chats are not end-to-end encrypted, and we can access them when needed to review a report or enforce our Terms.
- Payment status you or a host mark (paid or unpaid) is visible to the event's hosts and players.
- Hosts can see who opened their event and which kind of share link they came from.
- Coach listings and courts you add are visible to everyone who uses the app.
- Posts you share. When you share an event or results to WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram or elsewhere, what you post there is governed by that service's privacy policy.
Service providers and other parties
We share information only with the following, and only as needed:
- Google Firebase (Google LLC) hosts the app and website and provides sign-in (Firebase Authentication), our database (Cloud Firestore), server functions, push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging), crash reports (Crashlytics) and usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase). Google processes this data on our behalf.
- Apple and Google sign-in confirm who you are when you sign in. Their own privacy policies apply to your Apple or Google account.
- OpenStreetMap services (Overpass and Nominatim) are used to find courts and look up places. The app sends them the map area or the place name you search for, along with standard technical data such as your IP address. We do not send your name or account details. Court data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL).
- DUPR (optional, may not be available yet). If you ask Dinklet to sync your rating from DUPR, our server sends your DUPR ID to DUPR and saves the ratings it returns on your profile. Some hosts may choose to submit match results to DUPR. If they do, the app tells you before you join, and joining means your name, DUPR ID and scores from that event are sent to DUPR. DUPR's own privacy policy applies to what it receives.
- Featured spots. Some gear and events in the app are sponsored, and some links go to outside stores or event pages. Dinklet may earn money from some of these links. When you tap one you leave Dinklet, and that website's privacy policy applies. Some featured images load from outside websites, which can see standard technical data like your IP address.
- Maps and directions. If you tap for directions, the address is opened in Apple Maps or Google Maps.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may share information if required by law, or if we believe in good faith it is needed to protect someone's safety, to investigate fraud or abuse, or to protect our rights.
- Business transfers. If Dinklet or The One Perfect Solution LLC is merged, sold or reorganized, information may transfer to the new owner, who must follow this policy or tell you about changes.
Your choices
- Edit your profile at any time under Me → Edit profile. DUPR ID and rating are optional.
- Location: you can say no, turn it off in your device settings, or use a ZIP code or city instead.
- Notifications: turn them off in your device settings.
- Block and report: block a player so you no longer see their messages, and report players or messages for review. Manage blocked players under Me → Settings → Blocked players.
- Leave a game, group or tournament at any time. Remove your coach listing from Me → Settings → My coach listing.
- Delete your account in the app under Me → Settings → Delete account, or follow the steps on our account deletion page.
Deleting your account
When you delete your account we delete your profile, your profile photo, your coach listing (if you have one) and your sign-in. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke Dinklet's access to your Apple ID.
Some information stays because other players rely on it:
- Messages you sent in group, game and tournament chats stay in those chats and may still show the name you used when you sent them.
- Your name may still appear on past rosters, team lists, brackets and results.
- Games, tournaments and groups you created, and courts you added, may stay for the other players in them.
- Reports and records we need for safety, fraud prevention or legal reasons.
If you want your name removed from messages or past results after deleting your account, email support@dinklet.com and we will remove or anonymize it where we reasonably can.
How long we keep information
- Profile and account information: while your account is active, and removed when you delete it.
- Games, tournaments, groups and chats: until the host or group owner deletes them, or until we remove old content we no longer need.
- Visit and sign-up source records: as long as the event exists.
- Reports: as long as needed to handle them and keep the community safe.
- Crash reports: kept by Firebase Crashlytics for a limited period (currently 90 days).
- Usage statistics: kept by Google Analytics for Firebase for a limited period (we set it to the shortest option, currently 2 months).
- Copies in backups or logs are removed on their normal schedule, usually within 30 days.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with Google Firebase, which encrypts data at rest. Database rules limit who can change what: you can change only your own profile, and hosts control the events they create. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee security. Please tell us at support@dinklet.com if you think your account has been misused.
Children
Dinklet is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at support@dinklet.com and we will delete it. Players aged 13 to 17 should use Dinklet with a parent's or guardian's permission.
Your privacy rights in the United States
Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia and other states with privacy laws), you may have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we have about you, and get a copy of it.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete your personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, or its use for targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still ask.
- Limit the use of sensitive information. The only sensitive information we use is your device location, and only to show what is near you when you ask.
- Not be treated differently for using any of these rights.
- Appeal if we decline your request, by replying to our decision.
To make a request, email support@dinklet.com from the email address on your Dinklet account. We may need to confirm your identity before acting. You can also have an authorized agent make a request for you, with your written permission. We will respond within 45 days.
California residents: in the past 12 months we collected the categories described above: identifiers (name, email, account ID), profile and activity information, approximate location if you allow it, user content such as messages, and device and crash information. We collected them from you, your device and the services described above, for the purposes in "How we use information". We disclosed them only to the service providers and parties listed above. We have not sold or shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Users outside the United States
Dinklet is run from the United States and is designed for players in the United States. Your information is processed and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. By using Dinklet you understand that your information will be handled in the United States as described here.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Dinklet changes. We will change the effective date above, and if the changes are significant we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
